Hello, my name is Chris Maynard. For the past 13 years I have taught in Chicago Public Schools, mostly fifth-and sixth-grade English Language Arts (ELA) and one year as an eighth-grade Social Studies teacher. You can learn more about me here.
Near the end of 2025, I decided to take a break from teaching to focus on my mental health. The profession has changed dramatically from when I started. I am hopeful to return to teaching, with some time off to recharge and rekindle the love I have for educating children.
